TETELESTAI – “IT IS FINISHED”

This piece draws its name from Jesus’ final words on the cross, as recorded in John 19:30.

Tetelestai marks the completion of Christ’s redemptive work—the moment when the veil of the temple was torn (Matthew 27:51), symbolizing the removal of the barrier between God and humanity. The radiant gold leaf running through the textured white surface represents Christ’s blood— precious, poured out, and powerful. It also signifies the torn veil, opening direct access to God. The stark white texture reflects the onceimpenetrable division between the Holy and the unholy— now forever changed. TETELESTAI is a visual proclamation of Christ’s victory.

It invites the viewer to reflect on the finality of His sacrifice, the tearing down of separation, and the invitation to draw near to the throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16).
